For most people, mornings are a struggle. Whether you hit the snooze button six times in a row or you have an entire family to get ready and out the door, there always seems to be chaos in the early hours of the day. To help you control the hectic morning times, we’ve collected some tips for preparing and sticking to a morning schedule. Hopefully you’ll find that your mornings go a lot more smoothly after trying out these ideas.
Prep your meals
Have you ever skipped breakfast when you were running late in the morning? Skipping breakfast can save you valuable minutes, but it can also leave you grumpy and deprived of energy for the first half of the day. Instead of opting out of your first meal, try preparing a grab-and-go recipe that can last you all week, like healthy muffins or breakfast sandwiches. Along those same lines, pack your lunch the night before. This will keep you from scrambling in the morning (or worse, resorting to fast food on your lunch break).
Time your shower
It’s easy to let time slip away from you when you’re sleepy and enjoying the stream of hot water. Before you know it, you’ve wasted half your morning just standing in the shower! A timer to remind you how much time has passed will help keep you on track (and bonus, will help you conserve water!). Another option is to have a shower playlist. After the third song, you know it’s time to get out.
Pre-pick your outfit
Putting together your outfit for the day can be a major time-suck in the morning. Whether it’s because you can’t find your favorite pair of tights or you’re not sure which blazer matches your blue dress, getting dressed can easily make you late. Instead, pick and lay out your outfit the night before. This includes any accessories, like jewelry, scarves or bags. You’ll be amazed how your morning progresses with ease when you don’t have to think about your clothes.
Make makeup minimal
Weekday mornings are not the time to get all glammed up, but you still want to look nice and put-together for the day. Choose a makeup routine that sticks to the basics. Foundation and mascara are a good place to start. You can build and customize from there. Another option is to rely on permanent makeup, which allows you to roll out of bed with perfect eyebrows, eye liner or colored lips with absolutely no effort.
Now you’re prepped and ready to make the most of your mornings! We promise that using these tips will decrease your stress and help you get to where you’re going on time. Make sure to check out AVC Aesthetics for all your permanent makeup needs.
